The Athinaikon Hotel tries to minimise the environmental impact and has therefore taken measures for various improvements. For example, when hotel guests open the windows the heating or air conditioning switches off automatically. The same thing happens when the guests leave their room: the light simply turns off.
But also when it comes to the laundry there is a ecological concept: towels and sheets are only changed on request, so that there is no unnecessary and energy intensive laundry. Waste is recycled as guests can easily separate it into different containers. The hotel guests are also asked not to throw any unappropriate waste into the toilets.
